This festive gathering welcomed family members to explore therapeutic spaces and facilities, engage in meaningful discussions about patient care and share in a variety of joyful activities with patients and staff.
The day was full off seasonal cheer, offering workshops, volleyball matches and even a chance to meet llamas! A highlight of the event was the human fruit machine, where participants had the chance to win festive prizes. To finish the day, everyone joined a joyful sing-along, beautifully led by one of the patients, the chaplain Adam Gidney, and the Langdon team.
Families shared glowing feedback, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to learn more about the hospital’s facilities, such as the gym, Discovery Centre, music room, arts and crafts area, workshop, education room, multi-faith room and sports barn.
Tom Woodd, Lead Forensic Social Worker, shared his reflections: “It was wonderful to see patients, families and colleagues coming together to enjoy the event. These gatherings are always a fantastic opportunity to strengthen connections and celebrate the progress and support within our community. A huge thank you to Open Up for helping us fund this special event and to everyone who contributed to making it such a success.”
