A personal reason to run
Dan’s motivation is deeply personal. Following the birth of his youngest child, his wife experienced severe postnatal depression and reached a point of crisis. With the support of specialist perinatal mental health services, she was admitted to Jasmine Lodge, where she received the care needed to stay safe and begin her recovery.

Giving back to help others
The impact of that support was profound. It not only helped one individual through an incredibly difficult time, but ensured their family could remain together. In a safe and compassionate environment, she was supported to recover while continuing to bond with her baby and stay connected as a family.
Now, Dan is running to give something back. By taking on one of the world’s most iconic races, he hopes to help ensure other families can access the same life changing care.
Funds raised will support Open Up’s Little Something Fund, helping to enhance perinatal services and provide the additional care, comfort and opportunities that make a lasting difference to families when they need it most.
