Trek through ever-changing desert landscapes, climb the spectacular Chigaga Dunes and watch the sun rise over one of the world’s most breathtaking environments. The days may be hot and the trekking challenging, but with stunning views, expert support and an incredible sense of achievement waiting at the finish, every step will be worth it.

Six-day itinerary

Day 1: Depart the UK

Fly from the UK to Morocco and transfer to our hotel in Ouarzazate, a gateway to the Sahara and a popular filming location for movies including Gladiator. After a challenge briefing, enjoy the evening and rest ahead of an early start.

Day 2: M’Hamid to Bougharn Dunes

After breakfast, travel through the beautiful Draa Valley to M’Hamid, the gateway to the Sahara. From here, begin your challenge with a short trek through the dunes before reaching our first desert campsite.

Trekking distance: Approx. 4 to 8km (2 to 3 hours)

Day 3: Bougharn Dunes to Chigaga Dunes

Trek deeper into the Sahara alongside camel trains, crossing ever-changing dunes shaped by the desert winds. Along the way, there may be an opportunity to meet local nomadic communities before arriving at camp beneath the impressive Chigaga Dunes.

Trekking distance: Approx. 14 to 18km (6 to 7 hours)

Day 4: Chigaga Dunes to Erg Aghoual

Rise before dawn to climb the Chigaga Dunes and watch an unforgettable Sahara sunrise. After breakfast, continue your desert trek across the stunning landscape to our next campsite at Erg Aghoual.

Trekking distance: Approx. 14 to 18km (7 to 8 hours)

Day 5: Erg Aghoual to Ouarzazate

Complete the final section of your trek before saying goodbye to the Sahara and transferring back to Ouarzazate. In the evening, celebrate your achievement with a group dinner.

Trekking distance: Approx. 4km (2 hours)

Day 6: Return to the UK

Transfer to Marrakech for some free time to explore the city before catching an evening flight back to the UK.
